Julian Mugova's Story

My journey of Becoming
My journey of Becoming has been one of the most challenging, and yet also one of the most rewarding decisions I have taken in my life.
I am Julian Mugova, from Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. At home, I have my hands and heart full as a mother to four wonderful children, and a wife to one awesome husband.
My story here began in 2021, and it started with a simple act of love. My sister, Bernedette Werrett, registered me and encouraged me to join ROOTS. I attended the first meeting, just to “accompany” her, but from that very first day… I was hooked.
One of the greatest gift this journey has given me is sobriety. That single word holds so much, and because of it, I have learned to exercise the power of THE PAUSE - to take a breath before I speak, to bring a new kind of clarity and intention to how I act and what I say, both here, in the marketplace, and at home with my family.
Now, those who know me might smile at this, because I’ll tell you a secret: I am an adrenaline junkie at heart. I love the rush! But I have found a new kind of thrill—the profound strength that comes from being centered, clear, and present.
It is from this place of peace and strength that my hope grows - added to the nuggets learnt and shared through one of my key books in the course: The Unique Woman - because I am!
My goal is to lead Cells - having done so diligently over the four period of my journey, and been so gently led into this ROOTS family myself, I have a deep calling now to help create that same space of welcome and growth for other women.
To my relationships deepened with my sisters, Bernie, Vimbai, Natalie, and Gertrude: Thank you for doing life with me, and being the community that showed me how beautiful a sober, purposeful life can be.
