Anesuishe Tabeth Dera's Story

I first heard about ROOTS from my pastor, Gaolatlhe Gwindi, and my friend Julian Mugova, who invited me to sign up for the next induction session. I didn’t know what ROOTS was at the time, and I had questions. They patiently answered every one and assured me this would be a life‑changing journey. Their care and confidence gave me the courage to join.
I was searching for a community where I could grow spiritually and connect with women who share the same values. Joining ROOTS felt like stepping into a family, warm, supportive, and full of purpose. From the very first meeting I felt seen and welcomed. The classes and books are rich and practical, and ROOTS’ emphasis on serving our communities made faith feel active and relevant.
ROOTS helped me discover my voice and gave me the confidence to lead. I’m now a cell leader and I love doing life with my cell family, praying together, learning together, and supporting one another through real challenges. My favourite ROOTS topic is learning about the holy women of old and how they lived out their purpose in God; those stories have reshaped how I view my own calling.
When I started ROOTS I had just gotten married and was beginning a new chapter. Sessions like Loving Your Husband and To Be Sober equipped me with practical wisdom for marriage and homemaking and helped me grow into a more patient, intentional wife.
ROOTS has been a place of belonging, growth, and transformation for me. I’m grateful for the friendships, the leadership opportunities, and the way ROOTS has helped me live out my faith in everyday life.
